Deal Maker, part 1 "Crossroad"

The man stopped in the middle of the dirt crossroad, glancing about the four directions quickly to make sure he was indeed alone. It was pitch black midnight, moon just a half circle in sky that provided just enough light to where the man could see what he was up to. Nodding to himself that he would not be disturbed this night, he knelt down, drawing a small tin box from his jacket packet. Looking up at the surrounding area, the man gave a deep sigh to steady his nerves before turning his attention back to the spot in the middle of the crossroad, hand quickly digging up a small hole in the gravel. The man set the box gently into the hole and covered it back up before standing and taking a few steps back and waiting.

He did not have to wait long...

"Hello there." a gentle, feminine voice sounded behind him. The man spun quickly, eyes stopping on the form of a most striking young woman. The young woman slowly was walking a wide circle around him, her dark hair like smoke trailing gently behind her in the gentle breeze as she regarded him with blood red eyes in a way that reminded the man of a lion circling its prey. He only let his surprise show for a moment before his face went back to showing a grim determination that made the young woman grin.

"You act surprised," her voice a mock innocence that could never veil the darkness hiding behind it. "Am I not what you expected?" the woman continued to grin, "or perhaps you are expecting me to look like..." she paused before giving a quick giggle, "Something else". The man did not flinch, eyes only hardening before he responded, "I'm here to make a deal". The woman's eyebrow arched briefly before her grin widened. "Just like that huh? Straight to business." she said, almost pouting as she slowly ran her well maintained hands down the front and legs of her tight, black dress. "No idle chat? No 'Wow, your are beautiful'"?

The man continued his silence, waiting for the woman to move past her little game.

"You know boy, that rather tells me alot about why you are here." the woman said with a laugh as she slowly walked over the front of the man's car parked nearby, sliding up to sit on the hood, arms loosely drapped over her legs as she regarded the man again. "Very well", she said with a sigh, "To business it is." The woman let the smile return to her lips, "You are here about a girl, a girl you feel quite stongly for seeing as you summoned a crossroads demon in hopes of achieving a deal."

The man still said nothing, just regarding the woman with hard eyes, causing her to frown slightly.

"Well, aren't you just a picture of seriousness," the woman's arms crossing over her chest. "Fine, I suppose you always run into one who just wants to make their deal and go". The woman slowly slides herself off the car, walking towards the man before stopping in front of him, slowly running a finger up his chest, her blood red eyes meeting his dark brown eyes.

"Wow", she thought to herself, "Rarely ever see dead eyes with fire behind them, this could quite interesting..."

She give the man a charming smile and said what he had been waiting to hear, "Alright darlin', what can I do for you?" The man closed his eyes for moment before meeting her gaze again and gave his reason for summoning a demon to make a deal with.

"I do not care the price to myself." the man started. "I will bare any pain, any curse, and any damnation for this deal."
He paused, watching the demoness' head tilt to the side in slight surprise before he continued. "In exchange, I ask for the power and ability to save the woman I love. To free her from her hell on earth and allow her the life she has always deserved." The man slowly looked out into the darkness, "If I can spend some of that time with her, I would love that. If It can't be that way though, and she is the only one who gets to enjoy her new life." The man's eyes locked back on the woman's, the fire in them burning out the deadness.

"So be it."
